Description

Product Information:

Our 100% authentic freeze-dried powdered non-fat milk is expertly sealed for long-term storage in two separate 5 lb Mylar packages. This nutritious option is an excellent way to enrich your diet with necessary protein and calcium. Additionally, powdered non-fat milk serves as a versatile substitute in recipes requiring milk or even for use in cereal.

Reconstituting the milk is straightforward and can be done with cold water. Typically, 5-6 teaspoons (23g) of the powdered mix should be combined with 8 oz of water, but you can adjust this to your taste. The easiest way to achieve a smooth consistency is by shaking the solution in a closed mason jar.

All our packaging is conducted in our dual-inspected USDA (FSIS) and FDA facility located in Western North Carolina, USA. The packages are equipped with a sturdy, twist-lock top and a Nylon gasket to ensure your product remains sealed and protected from external elements.

Proudly Made in the USA.

Why Opt for Freeze-Dried Foods?

Shelf Life

There is a clear link between moisture content and the shelf life of food. The higher the moisture, the shorter the shelf life. Dehydrated food can lose up to 90 percent of its moisture content. Home dehydrators may only remove 80% of water, resulting in a shorter shelf life. However, high-end dehydrated food can last up to 15 years, and some varieties may last up to 25 years.

Freeze-dried food is optimal for long-term storage, maintaining a shelf life of 25 years or more. Storing freeze-dried food in a cool, dark, and dry location can further prolong its shelf life.

How to Prepare Freeze-Dried Food

To enjoy freeze-dried food, simply add water and wait for it to rehydrate. The taste closely resembles that of the original food. In contrast, dehydrated food often requires boiling to rehydrate, which can take around 20 minutes depending on the type of food.

Nutritional Benefits

Freeze-dried food preserves most of its nutrients throughout the process. Once rehydrated, it is almost as nutritious as its fresh counterpart. Dehydrated food retains only 60-75% of its original nutrients, while freeze-dried food retains about 97%.

Flavor and Texture

Flavor is crucial in food, and freeze-dried options retain more nutrients, flavor, texture, and aroma compared to dehydrated food. Freeze-drying involves less heat, which helps preserve these qualities. Consequently, most people find that freeze-dried food tastes better.
